This week, Riccardo Muti leads the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in Schubert’s Mass No. 6 in E-flat Major, featuring soloists Amanda Forsythe, Elizabeth DeShong, Paul Appleby, Nicholas Phan, and Nahuel di Pierro. The program also includes the world premiere of CSO viola Max Raimi’s latest composition—Three Lisel Mueller Settings—commissioned by the Orchestra and featuring DeShong.  The program opens with Weber’s Overture to Oberon and closes with sixth music director Fritz Reiner conducting Siegfried’s Rhine Journey from Götterdämmerung from a 1959 RCA recording.
