Two world premieres, tours to Asia and Florida, a celebration of maestros and their masterworks, programs and special events on the subjects of reflection and peace, a collaboration with the Joffrey Ballet, the return of Daniel Barenboim and a concert staging of Verdi’s Aida, led by Riccardo Muti, are among the highlights of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s 2018-19 season. Maestro Muti begins the season with a free Community Concert in Millennium Park and caps it off with three performances of Verdi’s grandest opera, Aida, also featuring the Chicago Symphony Chorus and a stellar cast of internationally acclaimed soloists.
