Launched in 2007, CSO Resound is the Orchestra’s Grammy Award–winning independent record label. Featuring live concert performances with world-class conductors and guest artists, CSO Resound showcases the power and versatility of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra today.

A musical force in Chicago and around the world, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra has an expansive catalog of recordings that have earned 62 Grammy Awards from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chorus’ recording of Verdi's Messa da Requiem, led by Music Director Riccardo Muti, was awarded two Grammy awards at the 53rd annual ceremony in 2011. The recording of Verdi’s Requiem won Best Classical Album, with statuettes awarded to Maestro Muti and producer Christopher Alder, and Best Choral Performance, with statuettes awarded to Maestro Muti and Chicago Symphony Chorus Director Duain Wolfe.

In 2009, CSO Resound received its first Grammy awards. The recording of Shostakovich’s Fourth Symphony, conducted by Bernard Haitink, won Best Orchestral Performance, and the engineers of the album “Traditions and Transformations: Sounds of Silk Road Chicago” (David Frost, Tom Lazarus and Christopher Willis) received the award in the Best Engineered Classical Album category. “Traditions and Transformations” features the CSO side-by-side with the Silk Road Ensemble, cellist Yo-Yo Ma and pipa player Wu Man in a musical tour that blends Eastern and Western influences.
