The Beyond the Score production of “A Pierre Dream,” which celebrates the legacy of Pierre Boulez ahead of his 90th birthday in March, had its world premiere Nov. 14, 2014, at Symphony Center, with conductor Pablo Heras-Casado leading CSO musicians and guest artists. Featuring a specially commissioned design by acclaimed architect Frank Gehry, the production mixes performance with rare archival footage and new interviews with the composer-conductor who has remained one of Beyond the Score’s most passionate champions since the series’ origins in 2004.
Conceived by Gerard McBurney, BTS creative director, “A Pierre Dream” has a repeat performance at 3 p.m. Nov. 16 at Symphony Center. Additional performances are being planned by other presenters, including the Ojai Music Festival in California, where it will be staged next June.
