For the third stop on its seven-city European tour, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Riccardo Muti traveled to Aalborg, Denmark, for two concerts at the modernistic Musikkens Hus. Like the halls in Paris and Hamburg, the Musikkens Hus (House of Music) is of recent vintage but a few years older, completed in 2014. Built on the city’s waterfront, the complex was designed by the internationally acclaimed architectural firm Coop Himmelb(l)au.
