For its second concert in Vienna, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performed the overture to Mendelssohn’s Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage, Debussy’s La mer and Scriabin’s The Divine Poem. Meanwhile, Daniel Barenboim, former CSO music director, dropped by to greet CSO musicians. He’s conducting the Vienna Philharmonic, which is alternating nights with the CSO this week at the Musikverein.
