In his debut as soloist and conductor, Giovanni Antonini leads the CSO in a program featuring Avi Avital, also in his CSO debut, on mandolin. Together, they perform works by Boccherini, Vivaldi, and Bach, plus Haydn’s Symphony No. 103 and a traditional Bulgarian melody specially arranged for mandolin by Avital himself. This broadcast closes with Bach’s Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor led by CSO Assistant Principal Trumpet Mark Ridenour from a 2011 CSO Resound release.
