Appointed as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Mead co-composers-in-residence in 2010, Mason Bates and Anna Clyne went on to serve five seasons in this capacity. Along with curating the CSO’s contemporary series MusicNOW, the composers each completed commissions for the orchestra, including Bates’ Anthology of Fantastic Zoology and Clyne’s The Seamstress.
