Instruction for Courses
Librarians can provide dynamic, hands-on instruction to students in your courses, teaching relevant research strategies, tools, and techniques.
Benefits of Library Research Instruction
Library research instruction sessions can help students improve their research skills and write stronger research papers. Librarians can share their knowledge of print and digital information to help students find and evaluate sources. Librarians also teach academic integrity as it pertains to ethical information use and proper citation. In addition, research instruction sessions provide wonderful opportunities for students to meet Library staff members with whom they can consult individually on research questions.
Instruction sessions can last an entire class session, span multiple class sessions, or can be as short as 15 to 20 minutes (depending on the topic).
