After two concerts in Taipei, CSO musicians prepared for the three-hour flight to Tokyo, and upon their arrival, squeezed in some shopping, sightseeing — and practice. For the first program in Tokyo’s Bunka Kaikan concert hall, the orchestra played Beethoven and Mahler.
