For the second stop on their East Coast Tour 2018, Riccardo Muti and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra headed to New York City’s famed Carnegie Hall for the first of two concerts. Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Jennifer Higdon joined the CSO and Muti for the East Coast premiere of her Low Brass Concerto, featuring soloists Jay Friedman, Michael Mulcahy, Charles Vernon and Gene Pokorny.

Earlier in the day, several CSO musicians conducted master classes with students. Others took an opportunity to do some sightseeing. After a second concert at Carnegie Hall, the CSO and Muti move on to Florida and North Carolina for performances in Naples, West Palm Beach and Chapel Hill.
