Brahms’s symphonies were the first recordings ever purchased by conductor Edo de Waart, as he recounts in an interview below. For this broadcast, he conducts that composer’s Third Symphony from the same score he’s used for forty-five years. Orion Weiss also performs Mozart’s Piano Concerto no. 25 and discusses his musical upbringing in Cleveland. To close, we have a classic CSO recording with sixth music director Fritz Reiner.
