Beginning in September 2015 and running through fall 2016, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra will celebrate its 125th season. To honor this distinguished history, the CSO on almost every program of its 2015/16 season will perform at least one work that had its world or U.S. premiere by the orchestra. Much of this repertoire reflects long-standing commitments that the CSO had with those composers, many of whom appeared with the orchestra as conductors or soloists.

Riccardo Muti, the CSO’s 10th music director, continues to build on the legacy of his visionary predecessors, including Theodore Thomas, Frederick Stock, Fritz Reiner, Sir Georg Solti and Daniel Barenboim. For the 2015/16 season, Muti will lead the CSO in 11 weeks of subscription concerts over five residencies in September-October, December, February, April and June.
