Harry Phelps was born on September 15, 1891 in Plymouth, Illinois, and while he did not graduate from the College itself, he successfully went through the Knox Preparatory Academy in the 1909-1910 school year, making him a member of the last class to do so. A member of Company C in the 308th Infantry, he was killed in action in the fighting at the Argonne Forest on October 6, 1918. Harry Phelps is buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery, France.
