Charles Wallace Haines

Charles Haines (or Haynes) was born on March 27, 1898 in Rockport, Illinois. He came to Knox with the Class of 1920 in the fall of 1916, but left before the end of his freshman year to enlist in the U.S Navy. Sadly, he died just a couple weeks later, on April 28, 1917, of meningitis while at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station. He is buried in the Samuel Taylor Cemetery in Rockport.
