In the afternoon I was measured for clothing and insured for Ten Thousand Dollars which I assign to my dear sister."Rogers discusses his experiences at Jefferson Barracks. He also focuses on making social connections, stating "Even the most egotistical and authority boasting petty officers respect a man of character."
